Mr. Clifford Jones, Superintendent of Horry County Schools, will be holding “Coffee and Conversation with Cliff” events throughout the school year.
The events will both consist of informal listening sessions and discussions. Everyone is invited, and no registration or appointment is needed. Come to any event that meets your schedule.

Horry County Schools’ performance on the 2025 state report cards, based on overall ratings, shows that 38 out of 57 district schools were rated as Excellent or Good. Of those, 16 HCS schools were rated Excellent and 22 were rated Good, while 18 earned a score of Average.
HCS Scholars Academy High School is ranked #1 of all 1,309 schools in the state, earning a report card score of 99.7 out of 100!

Rise with Reading is a districtwide literacy challenge designed to motivate and celebrate reading among our 48,000 K-12 students. Through achievable goals, recognition, and engaging resources, we aim to build a community of readers and celebrate the joy of learning.

To honor all veterans who have served or are currently serving in our Armed Forces, JROTC departments from across HCS will come together for the inaugural HCS Veterans Day Ceremony.
This event will be held at the Conway High School football stadium at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 8. Everyone is invited!

Red Ribbon Week will be celebrated October 23–31, 2025.
The National Family Partnership (NFP) has announced the theme for 2025 Red Ribbon Week is“Life Is a Puzzle, Solve It Drug Free.”
This year’s theme reminds students that every decision they make is an important piece of life’s larger puzzle. Choosing to live drug-free helps create a complete picture of health, success, and well-being.
